Kabafita Upper Basic School 2010
Western Region
Total Raised – D29,850 (£746.25)
Funding was issued in April 2010 and a new kitchen is now complete.
The School Development Team were made aware that the school had no kitchen and that food preparation took place under a tree outside the school building, which is unhygienic.
Funds were donated to buy materials such as roofing timber, gravel and cement in order to build a kitchen next to the domestic science classroom.
On returning from a subsequent visit to the school, Kathy from our School Development Fund Team said “The project is already under way. It will be a very useful addition to the domestic science facilities of the school.”
We have since been informed that the kitchen is now finished.
‘..the kitchen is completed and ready for use this academic year. The congestion that we use to encounter in the home science laboratory is now a thing of the past. We are therefore thankful for this big achievement and we wish you and your company continued success’

"…the complete lack of a kitchen for the preparation of meals and other dishes. It is against the principles and practices of health and cleanliness"
