Please note that due to a change over in headmasters this project was put on hold but we are now actively fund-raising again for this school.
This school, serving two villages in the Central River Region, is lucky enough to have plenty of land on which it has built a large children’s garden and farm as well as a mothers’ club vegetable garden.
A Gambia Experience client visited the school in January 2010 for the second time with a donation of teaching materials and suggested the school contact us for funding for a much needed wall around the school grounds.
This is needed for the whole plot to prevent local animals such as goats, cows and donkeys from entering the school grounds and destroying the vegetable gardens and fouling the playground.
The wall would also stop motorists using the school playground as a thoroughfare between the two villages, which is currently a serious risk to the children.
