Funding has been issued to this school and work is now complete.

Roofing, steel windows and a door for a new home economics classroom.

Kitty Upper Basic School had never had a home for its home economics class. Pupils who took the subject at the school did cooking demonstrations in the open which is not an ideal teaching environment.

The school administration and the school management committee decided to build a classroom through a "self-help project". The project had taken 3 years but the community still didn't have the funds to finish the classroom. With the rainy season coming in June it was vital that the roof be completed as soon as possible. They also asked for the funds for six steel windows and a door.

The community of Kitty provided the required labour as they have done throughout the project an dwe are pleased to say that through the fund-raising efforts of our staff the classroom was finished before the first rain.
